THE PLANS  INCLUDE :

Full Material list included, including part numbers, phone numbers, websites. (Some parts may need substitution as part numbers can vary and change over time).

CAD drawn plans printed on 24" X 36" sheets, 11 total.

All drawings are labeled, and dimensioned with many notes to help you.

All the plans are broken down, labeling different assemblies side by side so it is easier to understand.

Pictures during construction that are labeled to make reading the large plan sheets easy. I can email these - this is a large file !!

Labeled pictures of the different machine parts are included in the instruction booklet.

Lots of general information included (ie; drill sizes for various taps, how to tap a hole, locating accurate holes, how to ACCURATELY layout the parts, recommended tools, etc..)

Critical components that need to be machined can be had on disk in DXF form for your machine shop.

Some  3-d drawings are also included. They are are simple drawings of the machine frame, gantry and set up. These drawings help to clear up the 2-d drawings by making it easier to understand since you are looking at it in a 3 dimensional view. The drawings also help understand the various main parts (ie; Gantry upright, X Bearing support< Gantry cross knee, etc...)

If your intention may be to modify the machine - it can be done quite readily because of the gantry design, and drive system - just in case you were wondering.

ALSO INCLUDED - TIPS AND NOTES LIKE :

Areas of the machine that need special attention
Tips on wiring the machine
Different types of wire and where to use it
Simple explanations of how bearings are fitted and installed to hold drive screws (ball or Acme)
Hints and tips for counter boring
Locating accurate holes (how too) and drilling them
Some basic must have tools
Getting the machine level

If you were wanting a machine that is heavy duty but a lot smaller size - Look at the DATA-CUT machine - that is my true recommendation - they are great small machines and Chris knows as much as anyone out there about CNC.

PLEASE NOTE : The plans I describe are a sound foundation to build this machine. I do not attempt to make these a complete 'STEP by STEP' set of plans. The drawings are complete and available electronic and printed to make it easy to make neaded minor adjustments based on your parts and or needs. The instructions although not a true ' step' by step allow you to easily understand how to build this machine quite readily. I also am happy to help you when you are 'stuck' or have a question. Please be aware this is not how I make a living - I placed these plans here to help people make a machine.
